Subject:  SENSATional tour Guide

Dear Mr. Florence,
We went on the French Quarter History tour last Thursday morning and
had a great time. Lloyd is an exceptional guide and teacher. He really
opened our eyes up to a lot of the hidden history we'd been walking right by! The
tour made our time in New Orleans a much richer experience.

"Lloyd is an authoritive source of information on everything New Orleans. Sensat who with his partner, Eugene Cizek, professor and director of the Tulane University School of Architecture Preservation Studies Program, are importantant leaders in the New Orleans'preservation movement. Gene and Lloyd's home is Sun Oak, a beautifully restored Creole cottage in Faubourg Marigny section of New Orleans".

Dear Mr. Florence,
My husband and I were in New Orleans for Mardi Gras from Feb 3 – 10.  On Friday, Feb 4 and Monday Feb 7 we had the pleasure of taking the St. Louis #1 cemetary/voodoo and French Quarter walking tours, both  guided by Lloyd Sensat. We were most impressed by Lloyd’s knowledge and personable presentation.  We not only enjoyed the sights we saw, but learned a LOT!  Also, we appreciated Lloyd’s recommendations concerning non-tour items.  In fact, I am now reading and enjoying a book he recommended concerning Madame Pontalba, Intimate Enemies
You are most fortunate to have a guide of Lloyd’s caliber working with you, as we found him to be a major enhancement to our first visit to your lovely city.

Dear Mr. Florence,
Two colleagues and I were recently in New Orleans for the American Association of Museums conference and took the cemetery tour offered by your company.  We specifically selected Historic New Orleans Walking Tours because of your committment to historic preservation and the assistance you provide in the restoration of the cemeteries.  Our guide, Lloyd Sensat, was top flight and should be commended for his skill and knowledge.  Following our tour, Lloyd was kind enough to sit with us for close to an hour discussing the problems faced by preservationists and museum professionals in New Orleans.  This conversation was highly insightful, and frankly, worth two or three sessions at the conference.  He deserves a pat on the back for a job well done.  Keep up the great work.
Best wishes,

Dear Mr. Florence,
I would like to take a moment from your busy schedule so I may compliment one of your tour guides--Lloyd Sensat. Having taken two of his tours
already I am looking forward to the cemetery tour this Thursday. Without a doubt I would recommend Mr. Sensat's tours. He possesses a rare enthusiasm that is just contagious, inciting one to stay alert for the duration of the tour.He chooses his gestures carefully, never to detract but always to enhance the tour.He was not merciless, he was not sadistic, but he is always kind. Yes, Lloyd Sensat, a tour guide's guide.
Give that man a raise.
 Thank you.

Robert,
I wanted to express my thanks and admiration for the walking tour of the Garden District that we took with Lloyd Sensat. He expresses himself clearly, in sufficient detail and with great humor. I was in NO with a group of 10 university students from my course, New Orleans Music and Society. As a veteran of a number of tours of the Garden District (every other year), I can say that his was one of the best tours we have had. Thanks again!

Dear Mr. Florence,

While in New Orleans last week, my daughter and I took the walking tour of the French Quarter with one of your guides. I wanted to write and tell you what an outstanding job Lloyd Sensat did.  He made the Quarter come alive as the buildings told their stories through his narration and observation.  His background knowledge of history, architecture, and art came through in his presentation, and we were impressed with his effectiveness as a guide.  The tour was well planned and paced, most interesting and informative, and a delightful way to develop insight into this fabulous area of the city.  I've been to New Orleans many times in the past, but I can truly say that I now have a unique perspective, having experienced the Quarter in depth under the guidance of Mr. Sensat.  Please tell him how much we enjoyed his gifted presentation.  Thank you for providing such an outstanding tour experience for us by having an employee of the caliber of Mr. Sensat working for your agency.

Sincerely,
Peggy Tordoff

The GardenDistrict Tour led by Lloyd Sensat, an expert on New Orleans history, architecture, preservation, and culture, was wonderful. Not only was it educational, informative, but also, entertaining. Even though I was dreading a walking tour in the sweltering July heat, I soon forgot about the heat and focused on the interesting information I was hearing. I have the brochure from your company and will direct any and all local and out-of-town tourists to Lloyd’s scheduled tours.

Dear Rob.
I took one of your tours, the cemetery tour, with Lloyd Sensat. I would like to thank your company for providing such
educational informative and entertaining tours, whilst I have a  fairly good knowledge of New Orleans history Mr Sensat was most enlightening and entertaining and he gave a very factual and colourful commentary on the various locations. I am looking forward to sharing one of the other tours with Lloyd  on my future visits to the faded lady.
 Yours Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Florence,

I recently had the pleasure of taking two of your organization's walking tours. The first was the afternoon Garden District tour on February 12, followed by the Cemetery tour on the morning of the 13th. I very much enjoyed Mr. Sensat's lively and informative style as he led us through the Garden District, so I was delighted to see
him again at Cafe Beignet the next morning. Both events were so much fun that I will recommend them to anyone I know who plans to visit New Orleans.
 Sincerely,
 Valerie Quinn
P.S.  We did not manage to send out holiday cards this year so, upon  my return, I wrote several dozen somewhat belated Valentine's Day greetings instead.  In all of them, I sang the praises of your  beautiful city, in the hopes of encouraging more people to visit.

Dear Mr. Florence,
During the week of Mardi Gras, my girlfriend and I went on three of  your tours.  I received three excellent tours; two of them were done by Lloyd Sensat.  His charismatic charm and knowledge of the city was far more than I expected.  His love of the city could easily be shown by ever word the flowed out of his mouth.  I would recommend his tour to
anyone that plans to visit New Orleans…>

Hi Lloyd,
We were on two of your tours (Cemetery & French Quarter) this past week, and I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed them. I'm always dragged kicking and screaming on any scheduled tour, but I think you've got a convert. Thank you so much for all of the history, cultural references, and obvious love of your city you managed to impart in a few short hours. We really loved both tours( Cemetery & French Quarter)  we took with you, as did our friends, Ben and Beth. We come to New Orleans often, and have always loved your city. Thanks for giving us some "bones" to hang our appreciation on.

'My husband and I went to New Orleans for the first time this past weekend, and I went on 2 of your tours:  the Garden District Tour on Friday 10/16 at 1:45 and the French Quarter Tour on Saturday 10/17 at 10:30.  My husband joined me for the French Quarter Tour.  I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed both tours.  I can't remember the name of the woman who led the Garden District Tour, but she was knowledgeable, witty and everything you want in a guide.  Lloyd led the French Quarter Tour, and my husband and I loved the history he provided, his humor and wonderfully raucous laugh.  We shot a couple of photos of Lloyd during the tour and would love to share them with him.  Should we send them to this e-mail address or do you have another e-mail address for Lloyd? Thanks for the great introduction to New Orleans.  We both want to come back.
Best,
Elyn and Michael Stubblefield
